Providing healthy, tasty meals means improving crew wellbeing and motivation. At BSM Catering Services we offer a full range of catering management services, from menu planning and inventory management to procurement services and catering budget management.
Taking care of the crew is at the heart of our catering management concept. We actively manage health and budget on board: Through streamlined workflows and transparent accounting, we reduce paperwork for senior officers, manage budgets without Cash to Master (CTM), and ensure that our seafarers enjoy well-balanced meals that cater to their diverse cultural backgrounds.
Catering management services can also be combined with our crewing services at the client's request. Our catering crew are professionally trained to carry out all catering and victualling tasks at sea, whilst adhering to good hygiene and housekeeping practices. BSM Catering Services continuously monitors the performance of the catering crew and provides training when required.
The crew is supported by unique purchasing and menu planning software. With features such as pre-set multi-cuisine menus, calorie tracking or provisioning requests, our marine catering software helps to reduce paperwork, collate on-board costs and ensure that menu planning is in line with the ship's budget.
Our experienced procurement team organises the supply of provisions to our various vessels around the world. Leveraging our purchasing volume, we negotiate the best prices for products and schedule deliveries to the most cost-effective ports to ensure the best quality at the lowest price. Supported by the latest ERP software, our back-office team manages the entire procurement process in strict compliance with international and local regulations.
BSM Catering Services is an ISO 9001:2015 registered company and strictly adheres to its Quality Management System (QMS). To further improve catering standards, we have developed and implemented the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) on board our vessels. Our seafarer centred system and structured stock management practices ensure that goods on board are used to their full potential - reducing wastage and overstocking.
